    • Our Coral Reef Ecology Curriculum is a great resource for students and teachers. Filled with lesson plans, videos, and interactive learning exercises, our education portal engages and inspires students to learn about coral reefs and to become stewards of this vital ecosystem.

    • The application period for the 2024 Science Without Borders® Challenge is now closed. Stay tuned for the announcement of the winners! This annual art contest encourages students to learn about important ocean science and conservation issues through art. The competition is open to middle and high school students 11-19 years old, with prizes of up to $500 awarded to the winning entries.

    On the last day of the UN #OceanDecade Conference, we’re talking about how partnerships and collaboration can help bring people together to make an impact on the water that is much bigger than the sum of our parts. Our friends from island nations in the Pacific have been especially successful in collaborating across borders to protect their waters. We heard about efforts to map and sustainably manage all of Tonga’s waters (including setting aside 30% as no-take #MPAs), convening partners to co-design marine conservation efforts in the Pacific (including the PCOOS workshop in #Fiji we participated in), and how small island nations in the Pacific have banned together to make a plan to improve conservation across the entire ocean basin (and the #highseas). ...
