Be sure to describe both the navigation practice and the conservation action illustrated in your artwork. Explain how the navigation decision—such as following navigational aids, using a mooring buoy, slowing down near wildlife, planning a safe route, or another responsible boating practice—helps protect people and the ocean. Your description should clearly connect the navigation action to its positive impact on the ocean. Your description is important; in fact, many past winners of the Challenge stood out because of their strong descriptions. The quality of your description could make the difference between placing third or fourth, or even being selected as a finalist.
