Oceanco was pleased to sponsor the Fabien Cousteau Blue Award at the 25th Anniversary International Superyacht Society (ISS) Design and Leadership Awards ceremony. The Black Tie awards gala-the kick off to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show- was held on a balmy Florida evening at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on November 4th. Jean-Michel Cousteau, son of Jacques Cousteau and father of the award namesake Fabien, made a surprise appearance on stage with an impassioned speech about the legacy of his family’s work and the importance of preserving the world’s oceans..

Throughout the Bahamas Awareness of Mangroves (B.A.M.) and Jamaica Awareness of Mangroves in Nature (J.A.M.I.N.) programs, we evaluate each phase of the mangrove education and restoration process to better understand how students are learning, growing, and connecting with their coastal environments.

Ten years ago, the Bahamas Awareness of Mangroves (B.A.M.) program began with a simple but meaningful commitment: to connect Bahamian students with the mangrove ecosystems that shape and protect their island home.

Since 2015, B.A.M. has been implemented in partnership with Friends of the Environment, whose dedication to environmental stewardship in Abaco has made this program possible year after year.
