Badi Samaniego

Bio

Badi R. Samaniego graduated with a BS degree in Agriculture from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and proceeded to work for the Pawikan (Marine Turtle) Conservation Project of the Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau in the Philippines. After three years with the project, he went on to obtain a MS degree in Zoology from the same university, and specialized in reef fish ecology. Since then, he has been involved in various marine biodiversity research projects and programs, has helped establish marine protected areas around the Philippines, and in conducted extension and some community work. He has about 10 years of work experience with reef fish communities. He is currently working on his doctorate degree in environmental science also at UPLB.
