Greg Piniak

Bio

Greg has a Bachelors degree in biology from the University of Notre Dame, and a PhD in ecology from Duke University. He did a postdoc with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and was a US Geological Survey Mendenhall Postdoctoral Fellow before returning to NOAA as a research ecologist. Greg has mostly focused on coral reef ecology, working on coral physiology, sediment impacts, vessel grounding restoration, and effects of marine protected areas. He has worked across the world, including Guam, American Samoa, Hawaii, Bermuda, Florida, and Puerto Rico.
