Bio

Robert Gardiner Jr. is a Master’s student at Nova Southeastern University’s Oceanographic Center where he works in the GIS and Remote Sensing lab. His thesis focuses on conducting a thorough analysis of the spatial parameters of spur and groove reef morphology, their relationship with local wind and wave environments, and the implications of that relationship in terms of a paleo-environment reconstruction. His work in the Remote Sensing lab consists of creating benthic and bathymetric maps of coastal environments. He earned his Bachelor’s in Geology with a minor in Marine Science at the University of Delaware in 2010 where he was involved with the Coastal Sediments, Hydrodynamics and Engineering Lab and worked with their Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV).
