Mangrove Education & Restoration Program

Our mangrove education and restoration program aims to increase environmental awareness and restore mangrove forests in the Caribbean.

We have partnered with local educational institutions to teach students and teachers about the ecological importance of their mangrove forests and help them get involved in mangrove restoration efforts.

Ocean Literacy

Education Research in Tonga: The students listened intently to the new information being provided during the coral reef seminar.

Help the Living Oceans Foundation expand our award-winning Coral Reef Education Portal.

Our innovative curriculum provides students and teachers around the world with lesson plans, educational videos, and course materials to help them learn about coral reefs and other tropical marine ecosystems. Support our efforts to add new units, educational resources, and courses, and help us educate the next generation of ocean champions.

Science Without Borders®: Conserving the Tropics

This project will enable communities to actively play a part in the conservation of their marine resources.

The program will work closely with coastal communities, integrating traditional conservation practices into management plans, sharing knowledge of monitoring and management of coastal marine resources, and inspiring behavior change to conserve the oceans.

Coral Reef Health & Resiliency

Support the Living Oceans Foundation’s work to assess the state of coral reefs and identify which reefs are most likely to survive in a rapidly changing world.

Our research on coral reef health and resiliency can identify priority sites for conservation and help organizations focus their limited resources where they can make the biggest impact.

These research efforts overwhelmingly target places where people rely on healthy reefs for food and income.

Science Without Borders® Challenge

Each year, our international ocean art contest engages hundreds of middle and high school students in ocean conservation through art.

The Challenge inspires students to be creative while learning about important marine science and conservation issues. Help keep the contest free to enter by supporting the Science Without Borders® Challenge.

Join the

Science Without Borders® Society

Individuals, companies, and organizations interested in making a substantial contribution to our efforts to protect, preserve, and restore our living oceans are invited to join the Science Without Borders® Society.

This is an exclusive community of supporters who are helping the foundation combat the coral reef crisis, protect mangrove forests, and educate and inspire the next generation of ocean advocates.
