• Science without Borders^® Challenge

  The application period for the 2026 Science Without Borders® Challenge is now open! This annual art contest encourages students to learn about important ocean science and conservation issues through art. The competition is open to middle and high school students 11-19 years old, with prizes of up to $500 awarded to the winning entries.

🌍 Connecting People, Art, and Oceans at the 2025 IUCN World Conservation CongressThe Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation was honored to participate in the 2025 IUCN World Conservation Congress, joining leaders and changemakers from around the world to advance global conservation action.As an IUCN member organization, we proudly co-sponsored two motions that reflect our mission to conserve and restore the health of our living oceans:✅ Motion 37 – Fourth global coral bleaching event: urgent action to reduce the risk of catastrophic loss of the world’s coral reefs. ✅ Motion 128 – Strengthening human-nature connectedness to advance transformative change for nature.We also joined AEON Collective, Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary (TBA21), Alligator Head Foundation, and IUCN for a session on The Role of Arts and Culture in Reimagining Conservation, where our Jamaica Awareness of Mangroves in Nature (J.A.M.I.N.) program was showcased as a model for building cultural and emotional connections to ocean conservation.🎨 A highlight of the week was co-sponsoring the #NatureForAll 30 x 30 Youth Art Contest, which received more than 360 submissions from students across five continents.
