Princess Hala bint Khalid bin Sultan participates in a high-level meeting in Monaco

The Prince Khalid bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation, participated in the third dialogue of the institutions for the Oceans Decade in Monaco. In her opening speech, Her Highness said: “We have made great strides in this field, and she stressed that achieving our goals requires teamwork, and we cannot achieve them alone.”

Princess Hala bint Khalid bin Sultan Al Saud added: “My father Prince Khalid bin Sultan over the years has become known for his passion for exploring and conserving coral reefs in the oceans, and has instilled in me great love and respect for the oceans, but also a deep sense of responsibility to protect coral reefs.”

The Third Dialogue of Foundations for the Decade of the Oceans was marked by the inaugural high-level segment, jointly by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO and the Albert II Foundation for Monaco, with the speeches delivered by His Highness Prince Albert II, Prince of Monaco, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, President of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, the Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, Her Royal Highness Princess Hala bint Khaled bin Sultan, President of the Khaled bin Sultan Living Ocean Foundation, and Vice President and Managing Director of the Albert II Foundation for Monaco, Olivier Wendin.

Over the course of three days, about twenty international institutions met to think about ways to support, especially at the material level, for the efforts underway within the framework of this decade, and those that must be launched in the future in order to achieve the goals by 2030.

On this occasion, the torch was handed over between the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, which had organized the second edition of the Inter-Institutional Dialogue for the Decade of the Oceans, and the Albert II Foundation of Monaco, which organized this third edition.

The Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation was founded in 2000 by His Royal Highness Prince Khaled bin Sultan Al Saud. The institution is dedicated to the preservation of the environment locally, regionally, and globally, through research, education, and outreach, working in cooperation with countries and and other international organizations, and a number of local institutions such as universities and ministries in the Kingdom.
