Reefs at Risk Activity and Coloring BookOur Reefs at Risk Activity and Coloring Book teaches children about the wonders of coral reefs through fun and educational activities. The book takes students on a learning adventure through interactive activities, thought-provoking questions, and captivating coloring pages. It raises awareness about the challenges coral reefs face while also fostering critical thinking and introducing students to new scientific concepts.

Coral reefs are complex ecosystems threatened by multiple factors, such as climate change, overfishing, marine debris, and pollution. Our book is designed to help students comprehend these issues through a structured approach, including engaging activities and thought-provoking questions placed strategically for optimal learning as students advance through the book.

Designed for students ages 9-13, the educational materials in the Reefs at Risk Activity and Coloring Book are flexible and can be adjusted to suit different grade levels and educational settings. We understand that students come with varying prior knowledge and comprehension levels, so we encourage educators to adapt the content to meet their specific needs and abilities.

The book was born from an innovative collaboration between the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation and the exceptionally gifted artist, Ryan Sobel. We created the book to increase ocean literacy among the next generation and raise awareness of the plight of coral reefs. We’ve integrated coloring pages throughout the book, recognizing that this artistic activity can enhance the learning experience. Coloring, when combined with science education, creates a dynamic and effective learning process, fostering comprehension, engagement, and a deeper connection to the subject matter. As students color these pages, they are encouraged to visualize and internalize abstract concepts, making the learning journey more comprehensive and engaging.

Dive into the book to embark on an adventure to explore coral reefs and the challenges they face in a rapidly changing world.
