All About Mangroves: A Video Series 🌿 The Living Oceans Foundation launched an engaging video series highlighting the importance of mangrove forests and their value to people and the environment.Mangroves are an extremely valuable tropical marine ecosystem. Their roots provide critical nursery habitat for many species of reef fish and act as natural barriers against coastal hazards, with their intricate root systems preventing erosion and mitigating damage from waves. Mangrove also help to filter water and play a pivotal role in combating climate change by sequestering large amounts of carbon dioxide. They are biodiversity hotspots, supporting marine life and coastal communities that depend upon healthy coastal ecosystems for food and income. This short-form video series dives into all of these issues and more. Take a look at the series, created by our marvelous intern Luz Verónica Delvasto Algarín, and join us in safeguarding mangroves and forging a path towards a brighter future.
