Fiona Webster

Bio

Fiona Webster is from Perth, Western Australia and has a PhD in coral reef science. She has worked in a range of different roles as a marine scientist and has broad interests. Her doctoral research was on the processes of coral/algal competition. After this she spent several years working in coral reef monitoring, particularly in relation to dredging activities. She has also worked as a fisheries scientist – both in Western Australia and more recently in the Kingdom of Tonga. Her role in Tonga – is working with community based fisheries and she enjoys empowering local people to have responsibility for the future of their reefs.
