Senior Research Assistant, Coral Coring Team

Bio

Justin is a Senior Research Assistant at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in Woods Hole, MA. He has been working at WHOI for over 7 years and has done coral research and sampling in the Red Sea, Vietnam, the Phillippines, Micronesia, the Maldives and Cuba. With over 300 working dives, he is an expert in collecting coral cores for geochemical analyses and paleoclimate reconstruction with our custom-made, environmentally-safe coral drilling system. Justin has also spent well over 300 days at sea on many research vessels undertaking unique blue-water chemistry experiments on pelagic microbial life. This includes on-deck incubations and sinking particle collection using specialized net-traps that he helped to design.
