Coral reefs, mangrove forests, and seagrass meadows are more than just vibrant ecosystems—they are vital allies for people and the planet. They buffer coastlines from storms, support fisheries and local livelihoods, drive tourism, and even help keep waters cleaner and healthier. But their value is often overlooked—until it’s lost.
Join us for the next installment in our Navigate with Care webinar series, a free online event designed to help mariners, conservationists, and ocean advocates understand the importance of these coastal habitats and how they can help protect them.

Navigate with Care: Reefs are Nature’s Ally
Thursday, October 16, 2025
9:00 AM FJT / 5:00 PM EST / 11:00 PM CEST
In this session, conservation scientists and maritime leaders will share their knowledge about the many services these ecosystems provide and what’s at stake if they are degraded. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of why protecting coral reefs, mangrove forests, and seagrass meadows is not just about the environment—it’s about safety, livelihoods, and long-term resilience. The webinar will also highlight practical ways mariners can help protect these fragile habitats, including the use of Aids to Navigation (AtoNs) and responsible boating practices to prevent damage while improving safety at sea.
This series is part of the broader Navigate with Care campaign, an endorsed Action of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. Developed in partnership with the International Foundation for Aids to Navigation (IFAN), the campaign empowers mariners, boaters, and ocean advocates to protect what matters most.
Whether you captain a yacht, paddle a kayak, or simply care about the ocean, this webinar is for you. Join us, learn more, and take the pledge to #NavigateWithCare.
