Melanie Roue, PhD

Scientist

Bio

Dr. Melanie Roue is a postdoctoral research scientist at the Institute of Research for Development (Tahiti, French Polynesia) since March 2012. Her work focuses on a new ecotoxicological phenomenon called Ciguatera Shellfish Poisoning (CSP). CSP affects humans through the consumption of giant clams probably contaminated by marine cyanobacteria. Her goal is to characterize toxins involved in these intoxications and to confirm the relationship between the proliferation of toxic marine cyanobacteria and giant clams toxicity.
